Faden Quartz

  Faden Quartz is a variety of clear quartz with a distinct physical characteristic – a visible white line which runs through it. Faden is the German word for “thread”, which refers to the white line. The thread is opaque and appears milky – it is the remnants of a fracture in the crystal which was naturally repaired by filling in the fracture with milky quartz.  Faden quartz often occurs as tabular crystals in which there is multiple terminations/points along the sides that are parallel to the thread, and sometimes forms in elaborate clusters which appear like sculptures.

Energetically, Fadens are said to have two primary strengths: healing and communication. As mentioned earlier, the white thread is evidence of self-healing – Fadens know how to heal and can therefore facilitate healing. The thread can also be seen as a channel for communication, and in the tabular form the terminations on both sides of the thread indicate bi-directional flow, as in double-terminated crystals. 

Fadens are also said to be good tools for working with etheric cords, and for restoring alignment to energetic pathways/meridians. Energy healers, such as Reiki or Pranic Healing practitioners, typically will resonate with the powerful combination of healing and communication.
