Kundalini Citrine aka Congo Citrine

Citrine is the yellow variety of quartz – it is a sibling of Amethyst, Rose Quartz, Smoky Quartz, and Clear Quartz. Natural citrine is relatively rare compared to other varieties of quartz – the majority of quartz sold as citrine was actually mined as amethyst, then heated to change the color from purple to yellow/orange. In traditional texts, citrine is one of the two stones that is self-cleansing and therefore never requires cleaning – the other is kyanite.

Energetically, citrine is said to enhance positivity, prosperity, and success.

Kundalini Citrine, aka Congo Citrine, is a well-known natural (non-heat treated) type of citrine, mined in a specific area of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). While not all specimens of Kundalini Citrine exhibit this, they often have smaller crystals growing at their base, almost parallel to the main point, like pineapple quartz or candle quartz.

As its name implies, Kundalini Citrine is said to facilitate the release of the kundalini energy that is stored at the base of the spine – this release enhances the process of spiritual awakening and enlightenment.
